Peanut Comics is made by Game Labs LLC. By using the site you agree to these terms. Our privacy page explains what we keep and how Fan Mail billing works.

It's a beta

• Peanut Comics is new and still being built. Some things may break, look odd or change. If you spot a problem, use "Report a bug" at the bottom of any page, and we'll fix it.
• We may add, change or remove features while in beta. Paid features (Fan Mail and custom comics) will always work as described when you pay, or we'll refund you.

Accounts

• Grown-ups make accounts. Children under 13 read through a grown-up's account or a teacher's class, never their own.
• Keep your password and parent PIN private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

Using Peanut Comics nicely

• Don't try to break, overload or copy the site, get around its limits or bot checks, or read comics you haven't unlocked.
• Don't upload anything unkind, unsafe or that you don't have the right to use, and never other people's personal information.
• We may close accounts or classes that break these rules.

Our comics

• The comics, characters (Peanut, Duck, Cat, Cashew and friends), artwork and code belong to Game Labs LLC. You can read them and share links to the site. Teachers may show them in class. Please don't copy, sell or republish them.

Teachers' own material

• When a teacher uploads a worksheet, notes or a chapter, they confirm they're allowed to use it in their classroom. It stays theirs. They let us store it and turn it into questions and a comic for their students.
• Questions are written automatically, so the teacher checks them before students see them. The Peanut Comics team may also review and fix them.

School data terms (for teachers and schools)

• When a teacher uses Peanut Comics with a class, Game Labs LLC acts on behalf of the school, under the school's direct control of student records (a "school official" under FERPA). The school stays in control of its student data.
• We use student information (first name, age, secret picture, reading level, reading stats and answers) only to run the teacher's classes. We never sell it, use it for ads, build profiles for anything else, or share it except with the service providers that run the site.
• Students can't chat, message anyone or buy anything, and they never give us an email.
• The teacher can download or delete any student's data at any time; deleting a class or the teacher account deletes all of its student data from our server right away. A school can also ask us by email.
• If we ever had a data breach affecting student information, we would tell the affected teachers and schools promptly.
• A school or district that needs a signed data privacy agreement (for example the NJ or national Student Data Privacy Consortium agreement) can email us.

Learning content and translations

• We work hard to make math and history comics accurate, but mistakes can happen. If an answer looks wrong, report it and we'll fix it.
• Translations are made by machine and may not be perfect. The English comic is the original.

The legal bits

• Peanut Comics is provided "as is", especially during the beta. As far as the law allows, Game Labs LLC isn't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
• These terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey, USA. If we change them, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be shown on the site.
